Science and Math Fun
Mrs. Fenton’s First Grade
Mrs. Fenton’s class has been hard at work this month learning Math and Science in an interactive, fun, and delicious way. Students have been studying measurements by using things in their classroom. This included blocks, paperclips, and M&M’s to measure things within their desks like a book or things given on a worksheet. The most enjoyable aspect of this lesson however, was the eating of the M&M’s.
The class also explored the world of science by creating a project based on sound waves. Student’s explored the use of sound waves by making projects like a rain stick, a guitar, and a pair of classic can walkie-talkies. All parts of the project had to be common items found at home. Overall, the students found both projects exciting and are ready to explore more lessons in Math and Science.
