Sweet STEAM on Valentine's Day
Our class found a fun project for the week of Valentine's Day that was both STEAM and "love" related. Students had to create a paper airplane that would transport a Valentine from one side of the room to the other. The teams were responsible for planning and drawing their design, and then creating the plane from paper. The pilot had three attempts to get it as far as he or she could. Then, another team member measured the distance while the recorder wrote down all of the information.
The students decided it was a lot harder than they originally thought, but they had a great time, as you can see from the pictures. We did have one team that was a clear winner.
