First Grade Happenings!
Thank you to everyone who returned their parent/teacher conference time paper. I would like to say that my late afternoon and evening slots are all full. Conferences run 15-minute intervals and only last till 6 this year, due to conferences being on a Wednesday night. I am sorry if some did not get a time that works best for them. I tried my best to fill in the times that parents did request. I have sent a final parent/teacher conference paper that is confirming your date and time. Please return that on Monday, October 8th.
The Human Design Project paper was sent home Wednesday, October 3, 2018. They need to be returned Monday, October 8, 2018. We will start presenting them.
Communication Arts: We will be starting to work with the short “e” sound. Spelling words are on the back of the parent letter. We will be working on the sequence of events and captions/labels.
Math: We will continue working on adding and subtracting numbers to ten.
Social Studies: We will be taking a break.
Science: We will start learning about plants and animals.
Spelling: Please study spelling words nightly.
Friendly Reminders/Upcoming Events:
-milk tickets are $7.00 for 20 punches and $1.75 for 5 punches. Please make sure your child has a milk ticket.
-Please send a snack if your child wants a snack every day to eat.
-Water bottles are allowed if they have a lid.
-Please practice tying shoes with your child. I have several students that do not know how to tie their shoes.
-October 17th is Parent/Teacher conferences.
-October 17th early out
-October 18th and 19th no school.
-Picture Day is Wednesday, October 24
-Character Ed Assembly - October 26
