About the Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest:
The Rotary Clubs of District 6040 annually host the 4-Way Test Speech Contest, providing high school students with a platform to showcase their oratory skills while exploring the principles of ethical decision-making. The contest revolves around the 4-Way Test, a set of guiding principles developed by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932 to promote ethical conduct in both personal and professional spheres. The four questions of the 4-Way Test serve as a universal standard for evaluating the ethicality of one's actions:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

This contest not only hones students' public speaking abilities but also instills in them a deep understanding of ethical leadership and responsibility.
