During the January 2nd professional development day for teachers, I learned about several new ways to utilize technology in the classroom. One way that stood out to me was a program called "Flipgrid" which allows students to post short videos to a classroom topic. These videos can be in response to a question, a brief explanation of a topic that a student has mastered, or a question to other students about something they don't understand. Our class explored Flipgrid on our first day back and had lots of fun recording responses to the question, "What is a fraction?" Students enjoyed filming themselves and editing their video selfie.
