Birthday Boxes
The birthday box donation drive was a huge success thanks to the students and citizens who contributed. When news of the drive was made public, an alumni of Putnam County R-I contacted the school counselor to say he was impressed with the generosity and service of this group of 5th-grade boys. This former student donated $100.00 to be spent toward the students' cause. Before taking the donations to the food pantry, the boys shopped at Hy-Vee and spent the money on vegetable oil, cupcake tins, and spray oil. The boys were impressed that a former student took notice of their service project. Way to go boys!
This week is Character Education Week and more donations will be accepted for the PC Cafe and Resource Center, PC Care Center, PC Food Pantry and Children’s Division.
